2023 National Safety Stand Down

The National Safety Stand-Down To Prevent Falls in Construction takes place May 1-5, 2023. OSHA states, “A Safety Stand-Down is a voluntary event for employers to talk directly to employees about safety. Any workplace can hold a stand-down by taking a break to focus on "Fall Hazards" and reinforcing the importance of "Fall Prevention".”

All of us at Emergent Safety place high value on this annual event as we believe in the power of education when it comes to accident prevention.  We utilize this opportunity to educate our customers about proper fall protection equipment and offer facility walkthroughs to make ensure fall protection is OSHA compliant.

When it comes to Fall Protection it is important to remember the ABC’s of Fall Protection according to our partners at 3M Fall Protection:

A is for Anchor Point:

  • Anchorage connectors, as defined by OSHA, are secure fall protection anchor points of attachment for lifelines, lanyards or deceleration devices and are designed to hold fast under the forces generated during a fall. Anchorage connectors vary by industry, job, type of installation and structure.  View some of our Anchor inventory here or contact your Emergent Safety Specialist for more information.

B is for Body Support:

  • Body support refers to fall protection equipment that directly supports the worker’s weight and maintains the body in a safe position during and after a fall event. Worker comfort, fit, and ease of use are key considerations in the selection of body support equipment like a full body harness that a worker may wear for extended periods during a work day. View some of our Body Support inventory here or contact your Emergent Safety Specialist for more information.

C is for Connection:

  • Connectors attach the worker’s harness to the anchorage connector. Types will vary depending on whether the worker needs connection of a personal fall arrest or positioning and travel restriction.
  • View some of our Connection inventory here or contact your Emergent Safety Specialist for more information.

At Emergent Safety, each and everyone of our Safety Specialists are trained in all OSHA Fall Protection standards. If you have any questions, or if your equipment needs to be inspected, reach out to your Emergent Safety Specialist or call Emergent Safety directly at 800.877.1390.
