December is Worldwide Food Service Safety Month

Each Decemeber is Worldwide Food Service Safety Month where the goal is to generate further awareness of safety protocols surrounding the safe preperation of food.

Emergent Safety Supply works with a number of food manufacturers to ensure safe and healthy working conditions are maintained.  Not only is this necessary to keep facilities operational, but also to protect the general public.  The CDC estimates that 48 million people get sick, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die from foodborne diseases each year in the United States.  Lastly, it is important to protect the reputation and name of a food manufacturer-nothing is worse for business than being the origin of illness.

According to the USDA, the four basic steps to prevent foodborne illnesses are:

  1. Clean: Wash hands and surfaces often.
  2. Separate: Don't cross-contaminate.
  3. Cook: Cook to proper temperatures.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate promptly.

Emergent Safety Supply can assist you with these important steps by providing clear signage that reminds employees each step.  You can contact us here to inquire about our custom signage for your facility or give us a call to speak with one of our trained Safety Specialists at 800-877-1390.

We sell a plethora of products specific to food manufacturers - from cut-resistant aprons and gloves to disposable clothing like hair and beard covers, and so much more.

Our Safety Specialists maintain credentials for food safety and are available for audits and walkthroughs to provide information on best practices and products.  Schedule a meeting today so that you can start 2023 off with a healthy and safe facility.
